Profile
Pan-Asian in a volcanic, Pacific Rim kinda way,
the Buttersprites draw energy from downtown Tokyo, mossy Seattle
pubs, and cartoon monsters. Fierce, fabulous, and self taught, the
Buttersprites emerged three years ago from a glamorous parallel
universe of glitter, cherry blossoms, and nurse uniforms. With members
hailing from Washington, Hawaii, and Japan, their simple, charming
sound is by turns sweet and punky, like the soundtrack from some
eighties independent film about zombies and kissing. Lyrics are
in Japanese and English.
