Behind the Scenes - Deborah Crooks

WORKSHOP LEADER

Profile

With lyric-writing skills honed by a lifetime of writing, and a voice that's reminiscent of Chrissie Hynde, Deborah presents an intimate and edgy performance that touches the heart and the mind.

Deborah Crooks

Widely published as an essayist and poet and with a background in journalism, the Californian turned her attention to songwriting in 2001. Roberta Donnay produced her first CD "5 Acres" in 2003. Two songs from that release have since been picked up for inclusion on compilation CDs. "Answers" is featured on Mosquito Media's "Undiscovered Artists You've Never Heard Volume II and "Dream Me" is featured on the RockerGrl Discoveries 2004 CD and is receiving airplay on Radio Crystal Blue. 5 Acres is also receiving airplay on Good People Radio out of San Francisco.

Deborah was a featured performer in San Francisco's 2004 Women on the Way Showcase.

Workshop: No Limits for Women in the Arts

No Limits is a national network of women artists who assist each other to be successful at their work and in their lives. In No Limits, we ask "What is your largest vision for yourself as an artist?" and then go about making it happen. A key to doing this is through building close relationships and community.
