From New York to Peoria, to VH-1 and A&E's Evening at the Improv, to Oprah Winfrey and The Joan Rivers Show(where she won America's Funniest Woman), Poppy Champlin has without question broken ahead of the pack to become one of the the country's most promising new female stand-up comics.

She is originally from Rhode Island, where she attended U.R.I. and graduated with a BFA in Theatre. Poppy then moved to Chicago to study the fundamentals of improvisational comedy at the famed Second City. After of a year at the training center and hobnobbing with the likes of Chris Farley and Mike Myers Poppy hit the road.

Poppy explodes onto the stage with a mountain of energy, and an East Coast savvy that demands the audience's attention. Her material appeals to both men and women and ranges from sports, relationships and politics, to flying in your lingerie. In addition, Poppy seasons her act with songs, sound effects and some killer impressions.

She has opened for Ray Ramano, Rosie O'Donnell, Dennis Leary, Bill Maher, Bill Hicks, Gilbert Gottfried, Richard Jeni, David Cross and Richard Belzer. Her television appearances include: Oprah Winfrey, VH-1's Stand-Up Spotlight with Rosie O'Donnell, A&E's Evening at The Improv, Lifetime's Girls Night Out, The Joan Rivers Show, Entertainment Tonight and Comedy Central's Stand-Up StandUp.

She has written for "American Family" as well as for Fox's, "Show Me the Funny". Her one woman show entitled: "A Chocolate Sandwich", was critically acclaimed in Chicago, as was her pilot "News You Can't Use", in which she portrays the entire bumbling news team.
