Bay Area power trio Sistas in the Pit intend to change the face of rock music! Consisting of Anita “Pa” Lofton on guitar, Kofy Brown on bass, and Ieela Grant on drums, Sistas in the Pit are ready to bust out onto the music scene. This unique blend of funk, rock and soul is being expressed from the power of the feminine.

Anita “Pa” Lofton, the electric guitarist, is known nationally and internationally as DJ Anita Lofton. She brings to the table her experience on the lead guitar and is the cutting edge melody of the Sistas in the Pit. Anita’s grasp of the funk wah and grunge electric are intuitive and alluring. Her electric fuzz puts a stamp of uniqueness to the sound of Sistas in the Pit.

World renowned hip hop/soul artist Kofy Brown brings her sensual and erotic bass styling to Sistas in the Pit. Deep, heavy, thumping tones is how Kofy expresses on the bass. Whether she’s thumping and plucking or grooving in the rhythm, her tender tones convey the warmth of Sistas in the Pit. With years of performing around the world, Kofy Brown is now ready to be a part of an electrifying trio asserting her raw energy, funk, and the power of the erotic.

Ieela Grant, the backbone of the Sistas, is holding the Pit down on the drum kit. Her repertoire also includes the congas, bongos, and the djembe. With her hard hitting yet graceful finesse, Ieela’s focus on “groove in the pocket” keep the Sistas tight and rock steady.

These three women embody the words young, gifted, and black. With raw feminine power and an ocean of creativity, Sistas in the Pit intend to completely blow your mind.
